This is the first installment of Blog Spotlight, where I’ll highlight blogs with awesome content on all things Vegas or gambling — and the first blog is one of the most unique sites I have come across: Local Adventurer.
The concept is awesome: Esther and Jacob move to a new city every year and blog about it from a uniquely local-tourist perspective. Their site isn’t entirely about Las Vegas, of course, but 2014 was dedicated to Sin City, and the posts do not disappoint. But currently, they are driving around the US in an Airstream is pretty awesome I love following along, you can too by subscribing to their Youtube channel.
If you’re looking for ideas about what to do in Vegas that are a little more outside the box then their site is perfect! I absolutely fell in love with their personalities and got some great ideas about what to do on my next trip to Vegas. My favorites include…
The Ultimate Las Vegas Bucket List (101 Things to Eat, See and Do). If it’s your first time to Vegas, this has pretty much everything you would want to do on your first trip, plus about 80 more things you can’t fit in the first time around:
Vegas doesn’t always come cheap, but Local Adventurer’s 25 Free Things to Do in Las Vegas gives you tons of free options. There are SO many things to do for free in Vegas, so if you lost a little more than you would’ve liked at the Blackjack table, or you want to keep your trip expense down without sacrificing, this is a great list to check out. Personally, I agree you HAVE to take a picture with the Vegas sign, and next time I’m in Vegas I’m going to check out the On Ball Hall of Fame!
Local Adventurer’s posts on Roos and More, which is an exotic petting zoo, and the Lion Habitat Ranch are by far my favorite. For one, I have ZERO clue these things existed and I am going to try to work one of them in the next time I head out to Vegas but also who doesn’t love pictures of adorable animals??
Local Adventurer has hundreds of amazing posts about Las Vegas that are definitely worth checking out! And make sure to subscribe to their newsletter while you’re over there — they’re currently living in an Airstream on the #EndlessCaravan campaign! They are creating videos about their journey on Youtube and I highly recommend that you hit that subscribe button they are awesome!
