If you love makeup and being glam as much as I do, then you probably already know about Jaclyn Hill. But if you’ve been living under a rock, her YouTube channel is one of the best sources for makeup tutorials. PLUS, she’s the genius behind Becca’s amazing highlighter: Champagne Pop.
I was shitting myself over how much I loved that highlighter when it released over the holidays, and now that she has released an entire face palette with Becca, I’m dead. Literally. I am living and dying for this glorious palette. It includes 3 blushes and 2 highlighters, one of which is Champagne Pop and the other one named Prosecco Pop is an exclusive to the limited edition pallet.
I just received my palette in the mail, and I could not be more pleased with it, but before it showed up I was coveting how magical it was via Jaclyn Hill’s Snapchat. She spent the last few days in Vegas with her girl squad in order to see J-Lo, and she was serving some glamazon realness by the pool at Wynn every day. Queen was GAH-LOWING like the Sun. The mix of Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop on the cheekbone is basically my new way of life. I feel straight up naked without it.
The original Champagne Pop has pink undertones and is suitable for a variety of skin tones. The new shade, Prosecco Pop, has more of a true golden shine that looks marvelous on darker skin tones (as well as lighter ones, I think). Mixing them, like I mentioned above, gives you a truly magically glow, and it’s my favorite way to wear them.
The palette is just one piece in the limited edition release. Ms. Hill also worked with Becca to develop an eyeshadow pallet. However, the eye palette will not be released in stores due to quality control issues that happened with the formulations of the eyeshadows. Jaclyn went on Snapchat and Twitter to address the complaints and explained the situation with the quality of the eyeshadow. She said she was only responsible for one shade in the palette and otherwise trusted Becca to come out with their typical eyeshadows, which have always been buttery and highly pigmented. However, due to the time constraints necessary to meet the launch date, Becca had to use a new lab, which unfortunately resulted in inconsistent quality. Some people received gorgeous high-quality palettes…
… while others got chalky shadows = no bueno. Jaclyn Hill quickly went to Becca to have them pull the palette in order to make sure her supporters only received quality product and assured everyone who wanted to return the palette that they can do so — no questions asked — and receive a full refund.
If you aren’t able to get your hands on the limited edition pieces, fear not — you can still be fierce this summer thanks to Champagne Pop in three forms that are now part of the permeate collection: pressed powder, poured creme and the shimmering skin perfector.
Jaclyn Hill’s Champagne Pop collection is a must-have this summer. Whether you plan to spend all day by the pool like Jaclyn or whether you’re looking for the perfect thing to snatch your cheekbones with when you hit up Jewel at Aria.
